Foundation Breakfast group 1_9_25 copy.jpg (CARLINVILLE, Ill.)—The Carlinville Area Hospital Foundation kicked off its 2025 fundraising initiatives with a contribution of $1.5 million toward the hospital’s various capital projects. Foundation board members were honored for their contributions with a special breakfast at the hospital on Thursday, Jan. 9.

“Since 2020, Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics has experienced tremendous growth into a nationally recognized rural healthcare provider, thanks in part to the hard work and dedication from the hospital staff as well as the future-focused strategies we’ve implemented,” said Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics President and CEO Brian Burnside. “This generous contribution from the Foundation will greatly impact the already-positive trajectory of the hospital, helping to advance primary care in rural communities, provide scholarships for future healthcare professionals, and grow the suite of expert medical services the hospital and clinics provide.”

The $1.5 million contribution will support the continued construction and opening of the brand-new Rural Health Clinic in Virden, the purchase of the 30,000-square-foot Karmak building in Carlinville, various renovations to the hospital’s main campus at 20733 N. Broad St. in Carlinville, and related development and advancement of local health services.

“The recent construction of the Virden Clinic, as well as the purchase of the Karmak building in Carlinville, are exciting developments for the entire community,” Burnside said. “The Foundation has received numerous generous donations in the past few months, and the board of directors knew immediately that they wanted the Foundation to be a part of this expansion of rural healthcare in and around Macoupin County.”

“The Foundation would like to extend its sincere gratitude toward the graciousness of our neighbors in their efforts to connect one another with high-quality, expert healthcare,” said Jason Griffith, Foundation Executive Director and Special Projects Executive at Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics. “It’s good to know so many people in our communities care so deeply about one another’s safety and well-being.”
