Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics is creating more depth among Girard Family Health Care, Carlinville Family Health Care and the Walk-in Clinic. Kate Wilkens, MD and Jamie Welty, FNP-BC, DNP will now be seeing patients at the Girard Family Health Care, in Girard, IL. Dr. Wilkens has been a primary physician for 11 years practicing at the Carlinville Family Health Care Clinic location. Jamie Welty will be splitting her practice between Girard and Carlinville. Welty, FNP-BC, DNP is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her bachelor's of science and nursing in 2017 and completed her doctorate of nursing in 2020 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics Announces Retirement – Elects New Board Members

Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics announces the retirement of long-standing Board Chairman J. Richard Schien. Richard joined the hospital’s Board of Directors in 1979 and has been active in the technological advancements and physical growth the hospital has seen since then. During the Annual Joint Board Meeting, Richard was congratulated on his retirement from the organization after serving 42 years. “I am proud to have had a small part in improving healthcare for our community,” said Schien. Richard will be joining the Carlinville Area Hospital Foundation Board, a not-for-profit companion corporation to Carlinville Area Hospital.

JCH Joins South-Central Hospital Alliance

Jersey Community Hospital has entered into a Definitive Agreement with the South-Central Hospital Alliance. The alliance was formed in 2019 and includes Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics, Hillsboro Area Hospital, and Pana Community Hospital. The alliance allows these Hospitals, a mixture of critical access and PPS designated facilities, to collaborate on mutually beneficial opportunities in order to maintain professional, community-based, high-quality healthcare in their local communities. This alliance is not a formal affiliation, merger, or acquisition and will not change the independent status of each hospital.

The Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN) announced its “4 Under 40” Hospital Leadership winners including Jessica Barkley, RN, BSN, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Quality Officer, Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics (CAH+C), during its Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony, held November 18 at the I-Hotel and Conference Center, Champaign.
