Carlinville 4H Visits CAH&C For Mini-Medical Day

Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics hosted six Carlinville 4-H members for a Mini-Medical Day. 4-H members were taken on a guided tour of the hospital facility, visiting the clinical departments throughout. The members were able to get a front-row seat into the departments of Lab, Radiology, and Cardiac Rehab and received a day and a life look at a nurse's work in the Med/Surg Unit. The Outpatient Therapy department involved the members with physical therapy activities and Infection Control reviewed proper hand hygiene technique.

The Mini-Medical Days have long been a fixture of Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics but have just recently made their return after a three-year hiatus due to COVID restrictions. The hospital team was happy to educate youth on what services a Comprehensive Rural Health System offers and the various healthcare careers that are available for them to pursue in the future.
